Normal purchases through JOVI do not, as a rule, require customers to provide health information or other special categories of personal data. Please do not send sensitive or health information unless it is genuinely necessary for us to deal with your request.
6. Orders
Personal data required to receive, confirm, prepare, invoice, deliver and support an order may be processed for the performance of a contract or to take pre-contractual steps requested by the data subject.
7. Payments
Payments may be processed by external payment service providers. Where full card or other payment credentials are entered directly into the provider's secure environment, JOVI does not receive or store those full credentials.
JOVI may receive from the provider only the information required to confirm, manage or reconcile the transaction.

11. Security and fraud prevention
JOVI may process data that is strictly necessary to protect the website and systems, prevent abusive use or fraud, investigate security incidents, protect customers and transactions and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where applicable, the legal basis is JOVI's legitimate interest in protecting its business, systems, customers and transactions.
12. Newsletter and marketing
JOVI may send communications concerning news, content, products, campaigns or offers where there is a valid legal basis.
Where consent is required, it will be requested freely and separately from acceptance of the Terms & Conditions. Subscribing to marketing is not a condition of purchase.
Where processing relies on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time. Electronic marketing messages will provide an accessible method to opt out.
13. Recipients
Personal data may be disclosed, to the extent necessary, to providers supporting JOVI's operations, including hosting and IT providers, e-commerce platforms, payment providers, carriers and logistics operators, invoicing and accounting providers, cybersecurity providers, email and communications platforms, analytics or advertising providers where legally permitted, professional advisers and public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

15. International data transfers
Some technology providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area.
Where a transfer is subject to the GDPR, JOVI will seek to ensure that it is based on a valid transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another mechanism permitted by the GDPR.
16. Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to mandatory statutory retention periods.
Billing and tax records will be retained for the period required by law. Contract and order information may be retained for as long as required to comply with legal obligations and defend legal rights. Complaint and dispute information may be retained for the time necessary to manage the matter and for relevant limitation periods.

Where there are reasonable doubts about the identity of the requester, JOVI may request additional information strictly necessary to confirm identity.
19. Response period
Requests concerning data protection rights will be handled within the periods required by the GDPR. Where a request is particularly complex or numerous requests have been received, the statutory extension may be used and the data subject will be informed where required.
20. Right to complain
Without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
In Portugal, the supervisory authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados — CNPD.
